Summer Bridges
Co-Director
As Co-Director of Bayou Region Classical Co-op, I am deeply passionate about creating a welcoming community where families can grow together through a classical education.Â
For the past 11 years, I have been homeschooling my two children, drawn initially to the flexibility and personalized learning that classical education offers. What continues to bring me joy is the hands-on approach, the rich conversations sparked by classic literature, and the memorable family outings to museums and cultural events that make learning come alive. In my role with the co-op, I love building meaningful connections—getting to know each child’s unique spark and encouraging the mothers as we walk this homeschool journey side by side.
I believe education flourishes when it blends academic rigor with warmth and relationship. My strengths in literature, history, and organizing cultural experiences help shape a co-op environment where curiosity is nurtured and lasting friendships are formed. Whether we’re diving into great books, exploring historical timelines, or planning enriching field trips, my hope is that every family feels supported and inspired. When I’m not coordinating classes or chatting with fellow homeschool parents, you’ll often find our family traveling together and exploring new things.

Talia Scott
Co-Director
I’m Talia Scott, and I’ve been homeschooling my children since 2012, guiding them from their earliest years all the way to high school graduation. I’m honored to have graduated my oldest daughter, and my son is currently in high school, continuing this classical journey. As Co-Director of Bayou Region Classical Cooperative, I’m deeply committed to a classical education that anchors students in the pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness. Inspired by this rich tradition, I seek to cultivate wonder, wisdom, and virtue, teaching students to think deeply, see beauty in God’s creation, and pursue goodness in all they do.
My heart for our community runs deep; I believe we are called to serve one another as a family, growing together on this journey. Beyond my leadership role, I love to mentor new homeschooling moms, walking with them as they step into this calling. I see homeschooling as an extension of virtue and intentional parenting—an invitation to raise children who thrive academically and grow in faith, character, and community. I especially love teaching science and grammar, watching students marvel at the natural world with curiosity and discover the beauty and clarity in language. My faith, love of learning, and commitment to community shape every step of this journey, as I help families raise the next generation grounded in truth, beauty, goodness, and a heart for service.
When I’m not homeschooling, you can find me working at our family business Toups Notary as a Civil Law Notary Public, in my kitchen cooking, at the sewing table, or getting lost in a good book.
Curriculum
At Bayou Region Classical Cooperative, we use a thoughtfully selected, Christ-centered classical curriculum that cultivates wisdom, virtue, and a love of learning rooted in the pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness.
Our curriculum choices equip students to think critically, communicate clearly, and build a strong academic foundation.
We believe parents are the primary educators of their children. While our shared curriculum provides consistency and meaningful classroom participation, families are encouraged to enrich and adapt learning at home to meet the unique needs of their children.
